By Car

We’re located 10 minutes from junction 50 of the A1 motorway. From here, take the A61 towards Ripon. On arrival at the ‘Clocktower’ traffic light junction, take the A6108 towards the village of North Stainley. Please do not use our postcode on satellite navigation as this is currently directing people to the wrong address. Please follow Lightwater Valley signs from A1/Ripon.

By Train

Our nearest railway station is Thirsk, with direct services from Manchester, Leeds, York, Middlesbrough and London. For full details of train times and services, please visit National Rail Enquiries.

Prior to arriving at Thirsk, we recommend familiarising yourself with the Dales & District bus timetables. Service 70 operates from Thirsk railway station to Ripon bus station, with service 159 operating directly from Ripon market place to Lightwater Valley (see below).

By Bus

We recommend utilising the Dales & District Bus service within our immediate locality. Service 159 stops at Lightwater Valley (Mon - Sat only), click here for timetable.

Please note: during off peak months April, May, September & October (due to our earlier closing times) the 159 bus will not pick up from within the theme park. The bus will pick up from the opposite side of the road outside the main entrance to the theme park (visitors are advised to walk to the main theme park entrance). The main entrance and exit gates will be locked 1 hour after the park is closed to the public.

From Leeds and Harrogate, the Transdev 36 runs daily to Ripon bus station.

From Ripon, Masham, Bedale and surrounding villages, YorBus is a new on-demand bus service. Rather than waiting at a bus stop for a bus to arrive at a certain time, YorBus allows you to book when you are ready to travel in the service area. You can book via the YorBus app then you simply turn up at your chosen bus stop at the time specified to await the arrival of YorBus.
