Yes, tickets are available for purchase on the day at our admissions booths. However, we recommend pre-booking online to save up to £5 per person compared to the on-the-day rates.

To secure the online discount, tickets must be purchased before midnight on the day prior to your visit. After this, only tickets at the on the day price will be available for purchase at the booths.

We are proud to continue our partnership with Nimbus Disability for the 2025 season. Nimbus Disability process all Essential Care and Rides Easy Access Pass Applications to ensure a fair and secure assessment process. 

 

If you have booked a Disabled Ticket, you must present a Nimbus Access Card or Nimbus Registered ID with a +1 symbol to qualify for a free Essential Carer ticket.  

 

Guest requiring a Ride Easy Access Pass (for those who find standing or queuing a barrier) must have a Nimbus Access Card with the queuing symbol or register for a free Lightwater Nimbus ID. 

 

Important Notice - Only a Lightwater Nimbus ID or a Nimbus Access Card will be accepted as proof of disability for a free carer place or a Ride Access Wristband. Unfortunately, any other documentation presented at admissions on the day will not be accepted.

At Lightwater Valley, we strive to provide a full family day out that everyone can enjoy. While we don't offer a non-rider ticket, the entrance fee covers much more than just the rides. It includes access to a variety of attractions and experiences that cater to all ages and interests, including parents!

No! Any children who measure under 90cm can enter the park for free. 


Please note, we measure children with their shoes on at our admissions desk upon arrival. If you are not sure how tall your child is, we recommend you select an under 90cm ticket. If your child measures 90cm or over, then a ticket can be purchased on arrival and any online rate will be honoured. 

Carer Tickets: Unfortunately, a free essential carer ticket cannot be applied to an under 90cm ticket.

Yes! We offer discounted entry to NHS, Military, Emergency Service, Blue Light Card and Max Card holders. The discount is for the card holder, and up to four guests. Simply book your tickets online and bring your work ID/accompanying card with you on the day of your visit. 

You do not need to pre book if you are a season pass holder, you can simply arrive any day during the 2024 season and present your pass to the team at admissions. 

We understand that plans change so whilst tickets are non-refundable, if you are no longer able to attend your original booking, then you absolutely can change the date.

 

If you have a Lightwater Valley account, you can log-in and change the date yourself, alternatively, you can contact our Visitor Experience Team on 01765 635321 with your booking reference and the date you would like to change to. PLEASE NOTE: a change of date must be done no later than 24 hours before the original date of your visit, and an administration fee of £1.50pp will be applied for each date change. 

Take care of your little ones in our comfortable Baby Care Centre located near our Visitor Information Office. Our Baby Care Centre features a host of helpful amenities for parents with infants and toddlers. This is a complimentary service which includes:

  • Baby changing tables
  • Baby feeding -  Microwaves and bottle warming 
  • Private breastfeeding area 
  • Children's toys 

Baby care items are available to purchase from our Visitor Information Office, such as:

  • Baby Milk 
  • Baby Food
  • Nappies 
  • Baby wipes 
  • Calpol
  • Calprofen 
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Factor 50 suncream 
  • Hayfever and Allergy tablets

 

Our 175 acre site provides free parking for all guests, regardless of whether you arrive in a coach, minibus or car. There are parking bays close to the entrance booths for our guests with Blue Badge disabled parking permits.

Lightwater Valley does not currently have any Electric Vehicle Charging Points. The closest charging points are located in Ripon City Centre which is around a 10 minute drive from the park, and are available at Booths, M&S and Sainsburys. 

We are very excited to announce that work will begin on a woodland accommodation offer for the park. Whilst the work is taking place, we can recommend local campsite and hotels. Visit our ‘Where to Stay’ page for more details. 

For the safety and well-being of all our guests, children under the age of 14 cannot enter Lightwater Valley unaccompanied. They must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 years old or over.

No – unfortunately due to both safety and hygiene protocol, the park has a zero-tolerance policy on any dogs except for assistance dogs. If you are planning on visiting us this season, please DO NOT leave your dogs in your vehicle unattended due to the lack of shade. Any cases of animals remaining locked in a vehicle will be dealt with by RSPCA and the police, who are authorized to carry out a seizure of the animal, even if property is damaged. LWV cannot be held responsible.


We recognise that some guests require additional assistance from a service animal in order to visit Lightwater Valley, therefore, assistance animals and guide dogs are permitted to enter the Park.

However, due to our unique environment, the following requirements apply:

  • Owners must be in control of their animal at all times.
  • The animal must remain on a non-extendable lead whilst inside the Park.
  • The animal cannot be left unattended at any time.
  • Animals are not permitted to enter a ride carriage.
  • Whilst we do not have a designated area for animals to expel waste, we require all animal owners to dispose of any waste immediately.

We reserve the right to request proof of training and to refuse access to untrained animals due to the health and safety risk they pose to both guests and staff. 

Should there be extreme weather conditions during the day such as heavy rain or strong winds, certain rides and attractions may be temporarily closed in the interests of health and safety. This information, however, will be communicated as quickly and efficiently as possible to all guests at the entrance to the park. Unfortunately no refunds will be made due to bad weather. 

At Lightwater Valley we recognise that for some guests, visiting the park can be very challenging. Therefore, with the help of one of our staff members Tynisha, we have implemented a 'quiet zone' that can be accessed by any of our visitors if they would like to escape the hustle and bustle of the park and relax in a calm and controlled environment. 

Tynisha is the founder of 'Visible Autism Lt' and it is her aim to ease some of the difficulties many guests face whilst on the park. For more information on Visable Autism, click here to check out their website and socials
 

On some occasions we do have times when rides and attractions are not operational for various reasons and as per our booking conditions, we reserve the right to alter or change the program of rides and attractions if it is deemed necessary to do so. When this is necessary, we list the rides at our admissions desk so that customers are made aware as soon as possible. In the event of a ride being non operational for a longer period of time we will post this on our website and encourage customers to check this.

No – however a number of our front-line personnel are fully trained in the provision of first responder first aid and carry basic medical kits with them at all times.

If you discover that you have lost an item of personal property within the park, please report to the Guest Information office located at the entrance of the park. Any lost property found at Lightwater Valley will be kept for a maximum of two weeks. 

If you believe that they are tall enough, but they have been declined by the operator, you can visit our Guest Information office where our staff will officially measure your child and give you proof to show to ride operators if your child is in fact tall enough.

Please note – all the rides have strict guidelines set by the ride manufactures which we must adhere to, if your child isn’t tall enough then they will be refused entry onto the ride.

The park has a strict policy on the use of cameras on rides as they can pose a safety risk if not secured properly. Cameras are allowed if they are securely fastened on a chest harness however they need to be checked by the ride operator and must not obstruct from the harnesses.

During Off - Peak periods, some of our rides may run at alternate times throughout the day. When this is necessary, a ride time table will be provided on arrival. 

As we are an adventure park designed for families with young children, smoking is not allowed everywhere in the park. For those guests wishing to smoke, you will find designated smoking areas located around the park. These are the only areas in which smoking is allowed. Smoking is not allowed in any other outdoor space, queue-line, catering outlet, shop or attraction. 

This policy also applies to electronic cigarrettes.
